Al-Hilal have reached an agreement with West Ham for the transfer of winger Crysencio Summerville. The deal for the Netherlands international is valued at a total package of £60m, comprising an initial £55m guaranteed fee and an additional £5m in potential bonuses. This agreement follows West Ham’s acceptance of the offer on Tuesday afternoon, granting Summerville clearance for a medical examination.
The Riyadh-based club’s bid was reportedly accepted swiftly by West Ham. Previously, the Hammers had turned down an offer in the region of £40m for Summerville. Aston Villa was also reported to have shown interest in the player.
Transfer Details and Club Impact
The agreement with Al-Hilal represents a significant financial boost for West Ham, particularly after their relegation from the Premier League in May. The club has been actively working to reduce its wage bill and generate funds. This transfer, if completed, would make Summerville the third-highest sale in West Ham’s history, following Declan Rice and Mateus Fernandes.
West Ham had previously sold midfielder Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham for £85m last month. With the potential sale of Summerville, the Hammers are set to have raised more than £150m from these two player sales this summer. The club has also announced that another key attacker, Jarrod Bowen, will remain with the team on an adjusted contract in the Championship.
The club’s management has decided to retain manager Nuno Espirito Santo as they aim for promotion back to the top flight during their 2026-27 campaign.

Summerville, who is 24 years old, played 34 times for West Ham in the 2025/26 season, where he scored seven goals and provided five assists. He also featured in all four of the Netherlands’ matches at the 2026 World Cup, contributing two goals and two assists during the tournament.
Prior to Al-Hilal’s successful bid, Roma had been attempting to secure a deal for Summerville. The Serie A club’s proposal of £39m (€46m) was reportedly rejected by West Ham on Monday. According to reports, Roma does not intend to increase their bid to match Al-Hilal’s offer and is now exploring alternative targets, including Norway’s World Cup stars Antonio Nusa and Andreas Schjelderup.
Manchester United was also among the Premier League clubs that showed interest in Summerville. However, these discussions did not progress beyond initial exploratory talks, as any potential move for the winger by Manchester United was contingent on the sale of Marcus Rashford this summer.
West Ham’s Summer Transfer Activity
This summer, West Ham has seen several movements in their squad. In terms of arrivals, Keiber Lamadrid joined from Deportivo La Guaira for an undisclosed fee. On the outgoing side, Krisztian Hegyi moved to Sparta Prague for an undisclosed fee, and Callum Wilson transferred to Brentford on a free transfer.
The most significant departures, however, have been Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham for £85m and the pending transfer of Crysencio Summerville to Al-Hilal.
